WSJ moves reporter Maidenberg to space and aviation beat

Micah Maidenberg

Wall Street Journal reporter Micah Maidenberg is now covering the space and aviation beat.

He joined the paper in July 2018 as a reporter on the breaking news desk.

Maidenberg was previously a reporting fellow at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where he was part of a team that focuses on investigative stories.

The team collaborated with reporters at the Toronto Star to examine the saga of the Trump hotel and condominium project in Toronto. It also conducted a deep dive into Mexico’s use of catastrophe bonds for the Los Angeles Times. And for Foreign Policy magazine, he traveled to Guyana, to report out a piece about the country’s forthcoming oil wealth.

During the summer of 2017, Maidenberg was a James Reston Reporting Fellow at the Business Day section at the New York Times.

He earned a Master of Arts from Columbia in May 2017. Between 2012 and 2016, he worked as a staff reporter at Crain’s Chicago Business, working on a team to produce the award-winning “Reckless Abandon” package of stories in 2013.
