WSJ hires Philly Inquirer’s McCabe to cover financial markets

Philadelphia Inquirer real estate reporter Caitlin McCabe has been hired by The Wall Street Journal to cover financial markets.

She will start next month. Her last day at the Inquirer was Jan. 24.

McCabe has been covering residential real estate since 2016. She previously was a suburbs reporter for the Inquirer.

Her story with Grace Toohey on unsolved murders in Chester — showing how one woman has had four family members murdered in the last two years and none of those cases were solved — garnered 4,000 Facebook shares and 30,000 hits on Philly.com along with running on A1.

She has covered everything from the Amtrak train crash to the arrested-then-exonerated Temple physicist to a presidential candidate named Donald Trump. McCabe had internships at Bloomberg News, the Wall Street Journal and the Charlotte Observer’s business desk.
