Kaitlyn Akin, currently a politics intern at the Des Moines Register, will be starting as the company’s retail reporter on Feb. 10.
Previously, she was first a news editor and then a managing editor at The Chicago Maroon. She also interned at PolitiFact for four months. Akin also served as a marketing and public relations intern at Calvert Foundation.
Additionally, she also has experience working as an office intern and writing intern.
Akin received her degree in English and political science from the University of Chicago.
