Chao Li has joined The Wall Street Journal as a weekend strategy editor.
Recently, she held the post of associate director of product operations at Group Nine Media. There, she ensured all process and tools for teams.
She also developed strategies with cross-functional teams and ensured execution of plans. Before being promoted, Li was an associate director of program management at the company. She also served as product manager of data platforms and emerging platforms.
Prior to joining Group Nine, Li was with Vox Media Inc. where she first served as a support manager and then later on as a project manager. She was also the web producer/writer for Tech Media Network and also worked as a mentor at Apple Retail.
Additionally, Li was a writer/social media assistant/video editor at the Future Journalism Project and also served as a content producer at Scribe Labs.
Li holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and English from the University of Buffalo and is also a M.A. in new media/digital journalism from New York University.
