Jonathan Wosen, a freelance writer at Haymarket Media Group, will be joining the San Diego Union-Tribune in April to cover the biotech industry.
He will also be covering the San Diego Zoo.
Previously, he was working as a science writing intern at the Annual Reviews where he wrote Q&As, features and contributed to the Review’s weekly newsletter. He also held the same intern position at the Santa Cruz Sentinel where he covered science and environment news.
Additionally, Wosen has interned at Stanford University School of Medicine and also served as a podcast writer and host at Goggles Optional. During his time there, he hosted or wrote more than 30 episodes of a science podcast produced by Stanford grad students.
He has also worked at STAT News and held the post of a freelance writer at Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology News.
Wosen is a B.A. in biology from Williams College and holds a master’s degree in Science communication from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He is also a PhD in immunology from Stanford University.
