CBS News, Bloomberg TV, ABC and PBS each won two awards at the Sixth Anual Emmy Awards for business & financial reporting in a luncheon Tuesday at the Rainbow Room in New York City.
CNBC and Minyanville.com each won an Emmy as well.
Bloomberg TV received the Emmy award in the outstanding investigative reporting of a business news story category for “401K Hidden Fees,”  a half-hour special exposing hidden charges that can skim off more than half of investment returns over a lifetime of retirement plan saving. “401K Hidden Fees” was hosted by anchor Mike Schneider and produced by Gary Matsumoto.
The Bloomberg TV special “Deadly Brew: The Human Toll of Ethanol” received the Emmy award in the outstanding documentary on a business topic category. The half-hour program, hosted by Schneider and produced by Randy Martin, investigates abuses endured by Brazil’s migrant workers who harvest sugar cane for ethanol production. Â
ABC News won for Outstanding Coverage of a Current Business News Story in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast and for Outstanding Investigative Reporting of a Business News Story in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast. The current business news story was about the global good crisis. The executive producer was Jon Banner.
CBS won for Outstanding Interpretation or Analysis of a Business News Story in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast and Outstanding Interpretation or Analysis of a Business News Story ‑‑ News Magazines and Long Form. The regularly scheduled newscast story was called “Life and Debt in America,” and the correspondent was Anthony Mason. The produce was Guy Campanile.
PBS won its two awards in the Outstanding Interpretation or Analysis of a Business News Story ‑‑ News Magazines and Long Form category. Both awards came from its NOW on PBS show. One winner was about the India economy, and the other was on taxing the poor.
CNBC won for Outstanding Coverage of a Current Business News Story ‑‑ News Magazines and Long Form for its “Field of Dreams” segment on Business Nation. The correspondent was David Faber, and the produce was Alison O’Brien.
Minyanville won in the New Approaches to Business & Financial Reporting category for its animated Minyanville’s World in Review featuing Hoofy and Boo.
