Daniel Dosoretz, the chief executive officer of Radiation Therapy Services, apparently doesn’t like the article about his Fort Myers, Fla.-based company in the upcoming issue of Forbes magazine.
He doesn’t like it so much that his company filed an 8-K with the SEC to complain about its contents.
The 8-K stated, “Our company appreciates the fact that in November, 2006 Forbes Magazine recognized our company in an article that ranked RTSX as number 13 out of the 200 best small companies in America. This was in recognition of our record of solid growth and the delivery of quality health care services to our patients. However, the profile of our company in the upcoming issue of Forbes contains several errors and misstatements of fact, as well as erroneous and misleading conclusions. RTSX would like to set the record straight and our detailed response to the Forbes article can be found on our website, www.rtsx.com.”
Read the article by David Whelan in the Jan. 8 issue of Forbes here. Decide for yourself if the 8-K was warranted. All I know is that if I was in Whelan’s shoes, I’d be putting the fact that a company filed an 8-K about my article on my resume.
