Weprin moves to new role at Hollywood Reporter

Alex Weprin

Newsletter editor and reporter Alex Weprin is moving into a new role at The Hollywood Reporter.

Weprin is now a media and business writer. He will be covering business and corporate stories, the world of TV news, and media companies like Condé Nast and The New York Times, as they evolve for a digital future.

He has been with The Reporter since June 2019. He previously was a senior editor at MediaPost and a senior editor at Politico. He also wrote and edited for TVNewser.

He also spent three years as a reporter at Broadcasting & Cable.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
