Sloane M. Perron has joined the Worcester Business Journal a staff writer covering banking and finance.
Currently, Perron is an adjunct professor at Anna Maria College teaching English and journalism, a role she will keep as she works for WBJ.
WBJ editor Brad Kane said:
“It’s been a few years since WBJ has had a reporter principally dedicated to the banking industry, and Sloane is going to bring a whole new level of insight as WBJ expands its coverage. Sloane has a strong and varied journalism background, is well known in the Central Massachusetts community, and will enhance our standard of excellence as she grows into her new beat.”
Previously, she was the editor of Pulse Magazine and was a staff writer at Ware River News, and a freelancer for publications like This Week and The Worcester Sun.
Perron added:
“WBJ is known for its high journalistic standards and its commitment to thorough business reporting. I am excited to join the WBJ team, and I look forward to exploring this new beat as I continue my reporting journey.”
Perron received dual bachelor’s degrees in business and English literature from Anna Maria and her master’s degree in journalism from the University of Limerick in Ireland. She has been published internationally in The Limerick Voice and The Limerick Leader.
