Washington Post national economy and business editor David Cho and deputy business editor Zachary Goldfarb sent out the following announcement on Wednesday:

We are excited to announce that Jeff Stein will join Wonkblog as a reporter covering the biggest policy debates of the day.

Jeff currently works at Vox, where he has been a prolific writer on issues of politics and policy, most recently covering Congress. In this role he has written revealing pieces about healthcare policy, Republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act and the Democratic response. He’s also written smart stories about deregulation, potential conflicts-of-interest in the Trump cabinet and Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore’s views of religion and the law.

Before coming to Washington, Jeff started the Ithaca Voice, a successful online local news non-profit in upstate New York. Jeff has also been a cops reporter for the Syracuse Post-Standard.

Jeff, an avid fan of hockey and the alt-rock band Pixies, graduated from Cornell. He lives in Mt. Pleasant.

Please welcome Jeff when he starts Nov. 20.
