Washington Post expands online business news coverage
The Washington Post, which earlier this month cut its standalone business news section in the printed paper, launched Monday an expanded online business and economic section on its Web site.
The section includes news analysis from well-known columnists, including Pulitzer Prize winner Steve Pearlstein, videos and live blogging from the day’s financial hearings and briefings, continuously updated stock market information, special investigative reports, and resources for business leaders and investors.
The section features a new blog, Small Change, by Ylan Mui and Nancy Trejos, that will focus on helping people survive the economic downturn. They will write about the many resourceful ways people are making do, reinventing themselves and sometimes even prospering.
“In today’s economic climate, with so many critical decisions being made in Washington, The Post is an essential read,†said Marcus Brauchli, Washington Post executive editor, in a statement. “This new section will let readers in this city and around the world not only get the latest news but tap into the policy discussions, the analysis, and the insight that set the Post apart.”
