Wall Street Journal online gets a facelift

Among the changes to the Wall Street Journal online are:

“• Additional navigation. We’ve added new links on the top of the page and in the left-side navigation bar to My Online Journal, Research & Tools, Online Exclusives and Today’s Newspaper.

“• A wider page with more information. We’ve taken advantage of the trend toward larger screen sizes and designed the page at a wider resolution to make the most of available space. The page will now be a fixed width and won’t change when the browser window does.

҉ۢ Personalization changes. Your personalized news will now appear in a scrolling box on the right side of the page, just below the advertisement, with links at the top of the box for your companies, industries, columnists and topics. You can view the same information in an easily scannable, full-page format by clicking on the My Online Journal tab at the top of the home page. You can also add up to 10 companies, industries, columnists and topics, rather than five. To begin or add personalization, go to the Setup Center.

“• Headlines from section fronts. We’ve made it easier to scan what’s new in each main section, including Markets, Technology and Opinion, by adding sections of headlines below the personalization box.”
