Vogue Business hires Shannon as editorial director

Sarah Shannon

Sarah Shannon has been hired as editorial director of Vogue Business. She will start on May 18.

Vogue Business launched in January 2019, as Condé Nast’s first business media title covering the fashion, beauty and luxury industries.

Shannon will oversee Vogue Business’ editorial teams based in London, as well as journalists around the world.

Shannon spent over eight years at Bloomberg News in London as senior retail reporter and has also been a regular contributor to the Financial Times and a contributing editor at the Business of Fashion. In 2013, she was an International Reporting Finalist in the Livingston Award for Young Journalist.

“I’m looking forward to building on the compelling and insightful coverage of Vogue Business on the global fashion, beauty and luxury sectors, to not only weather the current global state of flux but also navigate a more sustainable, ethical and diverse future,” said Shannon in a statement.

Christina Binkley, currently U.S. contributing dditor of Vogue Business, moves into the role of editor-at-large, effective immediately. She will retain her focus on the business of culture and fashion.

Vogue Business reaches an audience of more than 100,000 newsletter subscribers worldwide in its first year. Its Chinese-language edition, Vogue Business in China, has grown to reach 100,000 WeChat followers in five months.
