Virginia paper to cut stock listings

The Newport News Daily Press will cut its stock and mutual fund listings during the week, among other changes, according to its publisher.

Publisher Digby Solomon wrote, “Today we launch a few additional changes. Our Sunday Business section becomes Your Money, and focuses entirely on personal finance with news, tips, investing advice and the weekly stock listings. The work of our local business reporters will move to the front section, and frequently the front page, with other local news.

“Tuesday through Saturday, we’re dropping the stock market graphic report called Money & Markets from our Business pages in the Nation & World section. The list of key local stocks will remain, but the ups and downs of the market in general will be gone.”
