Jordan Moreau has been promoted to the post of online news editor at Variety.
Previously, he held the post of associate web editor at the company covering breaking news in the entertainment industry, editing reporters’ web articles using AP style and managing and keeping the website updated.
Moreau joined Variety last year as an editorial intern. Later on, he also held the post of content manager at the company.
Before joining Variety, Moreau was an entertainment editor at North by Northwestern. He also held the post of staff writer at the company. He has also worked as a marketing communications specialist at A&O Productions and was a student staff manager at Northwestern University Recreation.
He was also a newsroom intern at WOOD TV8 and a student fellow at Medill Global Program.
Additionally, he has also worked as a reporter at Medill Global Program and was a reporter and videographer for The Daily Northwestern.
Moreau holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism, Spanish and integrated marketing communications from Northwestern University.
Ellise Shafer has been appointed associate web editor for Variety. Shafer joined Variety in March 2020 as an editorial intern.
Previously, she was an intern at Billboard. There, she wrote over 150 articles, pitches stories, built articles in Drupal and transcribed interviews. Before that, she was first an intern then a booking agent at Biker Gang Booking.
Shafer is earning her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
