Doug Copeland, president and publisher of the Triad Business Journal for the past 16 years, announced Wednesday that he is stepping down effective June 1.
A story on its website states, “Copeland joined the Triad Business Journal in June 1999, just eight months after the publication debuted. Under his leadership, the paper quickly built a reputation as the Triad’s premier source of business news.
“‘For 16 years, Doug Copeland has been synonymous with Triad Business Journal,’’ said Whitney Shaw, CEO of American City Business Journals, TBJ’s Charlotte-based parent company. ‘He’s handled a challenging job with skill and finesse, a feat that’s not easy in an industry going through great change. Along the way, he’s made contributions both large and small to our company.
“‘All of ACBJ respects both Doug’s professional talents and the qualities that make him the outstanding leader he is. I know I’ll be cheering for him as he writes the next chapters in his career,’ Shaw said.”
