Toronto paper’s biz section adds international content

The Toronto Globe and Mail’s business section, Report on Business, is adding international content from the paper’s correspondents, writes Elena Cherney, the business editor.

Cherney writes, “The Globe has long provided dominant coverage of Canadian business and the strongest foreign business coverage of any Canadian publication. At a time when Canada’s fortunes are tied to stories unfolding in Asia, Latin America and other emerging markets, expanding our coverage of foreign business news will allow us to bring you more insight into the market forces, economic conditions and players shaping business and investment decisions both around the world and at home. Here’s a taste of what you’ll find:

The Global Exchange: In this new blog, we will showcase the work of our foreign correspondents in eleven bureaus, from London to New Delhi.

From Rome: Eric Reguly follows Europe’s ongoing struggles with sovereign debt.

From Johannesburg: Geoffrey York chronicles the stubborn challenges facing Africa’s booming economies.

From Beijing: Mark MacKinnon is monitoring China’s growth, an engine of global demand.”
