The Real Deal South Florida hires Millward

Wade Millward

Wade Tyler Millward has been hired by the TRD South Florida as a reporter.

He was previously a business reporter at EdSurge, an online source for education technology news. He also worked at the Las Vegas Review-Journal covering retail and general assignment for the business desk.

Millward was a business reporter for the Gaston Gazette in North Carolina for about two years before joining the Las Vegas paper.

While there, he reported on everything, including retail, restaurants, labor, real estate, construction, manufacturing, civil litigation and economic development in Gaston County, just west of Charlotte.

Prior to that, Millward worked for the Tampa Bay Business Journal, covering the startup and investment scenes in the Tampa Bay region of Florida, including activity in incubators, at the colleges and over a glass of craft beer.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
