A symposium on the state — and future — of business journalism will be held at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill on June 21-22 and include some of the biggest names in the industry talking about what needs to be done to improve the quality of business reporting.
Among the speakers are Nightly Business Report’s Linda O’Byron, Newsweek’s Allan Sloan, The Wall Street Journal’s Alan Murray, Washington & Lee Reynolds Business Journalism Professor Pamela Luecke and others.
Among the topics that will be discussed will be personal finance reporting, why business reporters aren’t better educated about business and the economy, the impact of television on business reporting, the relationship between CEOs and business journalists and the pressures that a business reporter faces from outside forces.
The symposium costs $50. For more information, and to register, go here.
