The Economist appoints Mathewson news editor

Jessie Mathewson

Jessie Mathewson is now a news editor at The Economist staying with the digital team in London. Previously, she was an intern digital journalist.

Mathewson was also London City Hall reporter – BBC Local Democracy Service at Newsquest. She was also a freelance fact checker at First Draft and has worked as a news writer intern at Press Association.

She has also interned at Prospect Magazine.

Mathewson has a B.A. in English from the University of Cambridge and a M.A. in magazine journalism from City, University of London.
