STAT hires Ravindranath to cover health tech

Mohana Ravindranath

STAT has hired Insider reporter Mohana Ravindranath to cover health technology.

She will start on Dec. 27.

She has been at Insider since June. Ravindranath has previously worked at Politico.

She also worked at NextgovAtlantic Media’s site for IT and government technology news, focusing on civilian agency technology and IT policy, with an eye toward Capitol Hill and congressional action as it relates to technology.

Before that, Ravindranath worked at The Washington Post, where she covered small businesses, start-up financing, employment and information technology. She wrote the weekly “On I.T.” feature for the Post’s Monday print edition, daily blog entries for the Post’s website, and other stories for the Post and its local business magazine, Capital Business.

Ravindranath has also previously written about small business issues, start-ups and entrepreneurship, and city news for The Philadelphia Inquirer and Business Insider.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
