Kurt Soller has been promoted to be the new editor of the magazine’s Etc. section, Bloomberg Businessweek announced Monday.
He replaces former Etc. editor Emma Rosenblum, who was recently named editor of Bloomberg Pursuits magazine.
Bloomberg Businessweek’s Etc. section covers work, life, fashion, travel, design, food, sports, culture, and other leisure pursuits. It’s a mini lifestyle magazine-within-a-magazine for readers.
Soller joined Bloomberg Businessweek as deputy editor of Etc. in October 2013 from New York magazine’s women’s and fashion site, The Cut, where he served as features editor and was part of the team that re-launched the site to much acclaim in 2012.
Prior to The Cut, Soller spent two years as Esquire’s online grooming and style editor, relaunching and directing daily content for its highly trafficked Style Blog. He previously was a staff reporter covering cultural trends for Newsweek. As a freelance writer, he has written for Details, Time Out New York, Gotham, Condé Nast Traveler, SPIN, BBC Travel, The Daily Beast, and more.
Hailing from New Hampshire, Soller holds a B.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University.
