Ben Seal has been hired as the managing editor of The American Lawyer, where he is responsible for helping to plan, edit and write for the monthly magazine.
He previously spent five years with the magazine’s Philadelphia-based sister publication, The Legal Intelligencer, where he was magazines and supplements editor for four years before spending a year as a staff reporter. In that role, he covered Pennsylvania’s state courts, the state legislature and the Attorney General’s Office, including the tumultuous tenure and perjury trial of former Attorney General Kathleen Kane.
He came to The American Lawyer following a stint in Drexel University’s communications department, where he wrote for its magazines and newsletters.
He graduated from Boston University in 2009 and is based in Philadelphia.
