The Society of American Business Editors and Writers will offer a conference call next Monday, Dec. 14, on covering the economy in 2010.
The call will be held from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. EST. Send an e-mail to sabew@missouri.edu with “Yes” in the subject line to receive instructions on how to access the call and how to ask questions.
The call will discuss topics such as important indicators to monitor in early 2010, how to find good stories in economic data, whether big spending in Washington is helping or hurting, what’s going to happen when the Federal Reserve finally raises interest rates and why a tiny country in the Mideast can cause world financial markets to tremble.
Speakers on the call will be Greg Ip, U.S. economics editor for The Economist; Mike Mandel, former chief economics writer for BusinessWeek; and Rich Miller, economy reporter for Bloomberg News.
The moderator will be Kevin Hall, economics correspondent for McClatchy Newspapers.
