Roanoke paper revamps Sunday biz section

The Roanoke Times newspaper in Virginia is introducing a redesigned Sunday business section this weekend with the name The Ticker.

A blog post on its site states, “You’ll see it for the first time this Sunday, so we wanted to give you a sneak peak at what you can expect. As you’ll see, The Ticker is all about local coverage. Among our new features:

* ‘One Question,’ with local business leaders talking about their challenges and goals, in their own words.

* Local technology news, including updates on university research and monthly listings of patents granted to Southwest Virginia inventors and companies.

* An easier to use calendar of business and networking events.

“Of course, we’ll also continue to bring you Jenny Kincaid Boone’s retail column, real estate transfers and Names & Changes, plus personal finance advice and commentary from Michelle Singletary.”
