Simon Rabinovitch, the Asia economy editor for The Economist, is moving to Washington to cover the U.S. economy.
He joined The Economist as Asia economics editor in 2014, primarily focused on Chinese economics and finance.
Prior to that he was a correspondent with the Financial Times in Beijing and Shanghai from 2011 to 2014. Rabinovitch started as a reporter with Reuters in London and arrived in China in 2007 to cover the economy, but also had a brief stint as a table-tennis specialist during the Beijing Olympics.
He has been interviewed on BBC World Service and NPR, among others.
