Financial news site Quartz has hired Inc. reporter Michelle Cheng to write for its Quartz at Work section.
She starts next month.
Cheng is a New York-based journalist reporting on business, technology, and policy. Previously, she reported on higher education, focusing on college accessibility and career outcomes.
She also dabbles in code and often takes a data-driven approach to reporting. For a FiveThirtyEight story, she analyzed Department of Education data to show that most students study “practical” majors, which was later referenced in The New York Times.
In addition to Inc. her work has been published at KQED News, Forbes, and MIT Technology Review.
She received her undergraduate degree from Boston University.
Today was my last day @Inc, super grateful to have worked with a bunch of talented editors, writers and reporters. Thanks to @lindsayblakely for being so patient and teaching me the editorial/ biz reporting ropes.
