Quartz executive editor Heather Landy will be taking on new duties at the financial news site after a journalist is hired to run Quartz at Work.
Landy will still be executive editor but is going to be focused on some new areas, overseeing editors for economics and finance, tech and emerging industries, and business of culture reporting teams.
She will be working closely with those editors and their teams on developing their most ambitious coverage ideas.
Landy has been at Quartz since 2014 and was previously global news editor and managing editor. She joined Quartz in 2014 from American Banker Magazine, where she was editor in chief. She previously wrote for Bloomberg News, The Washington Post, and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Landy has a BSJ and MSJ from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. Her reporting in Texas earned her a Gerald Loeb award.
