ProPublica won the gold in the 15th annual Barlett & Steele Awards for investigative business journalism.
The Associated Press won the silver, and a team of reporters from The Oregonian, Oregon Public Broadcasting, and ProPublica won the bronze.
The awards are named for the investigative team of Donald L. Barlett and James B. Steele, whose honors include two Pulitzer Prizes and several national journalism awards.
The competition is sponsored by the Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
