Casey Darnell will be joining the Post and Courier in Columbia, South Carolina, to cover government and development in Lexington County.
He begins Sept. 27.
Previously, Darnell worked as a news editor, digital editor and then editor-in-chief of The Daily Orange, an independent nonprofit newsroom. He has also contributed to Philadelphia Business Journal and Yahoo.
He was also a reporting intern at Yahoo News.
Darnell graduated from Syracuse University.
