Emily Parkhurst, the former publisher and editor in chief of the Puget Sound Business Journal, has been hired as vice president of content for 6AM City, a fast-growing media company.
Parkhurst oversees editorial and branded content. 6AM City provides hyper-local stories and content to hundreds of thousands of readers every day in cities across the country and is expanding into new markets.
She was publisher of the Business Journal, an American City Business Journals publication, since October 2018. She previously was its editor in chief from May 2016 to October 2018.
Parkhurst was also the paper’s managing editor, digital managing editor and a technology reporter.
6AM City, which is based in Greenville, South Carolina, has 425,000 subscribers and a total audience of 1.3 million.
