The newspaper’s announcement stated, “With the emailed newsletter en vogue, it only makes sense that Krugman would follow suit to lend some of his pearls of wisdom and brilliant economic analysis to readers, in a way that’s clear and concise.”
Krugman joined the paper in 1999 and writes about macroeconomics, trade, health care, social policy and politics.
He is distinguished professor in the Graduate Center Economics Ph.D. program and distinguished scholar at the Luxembourg Income Study Center at the City University of New York. In addition, he is professor emeritus of Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School.
In 2008, Krugman was the sole recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his work on international trade theory.
