The New York Times has hired Keiko Morris from The Wall Street Journal as director of newsroom recruiting.
She will start Nov. 8
Morris will lead the paper’s effort to bring journalists to the paper. Andrés Martínez, a Journal alum now on the Live team at the Times, described Morris as “a force” whom people are drawn to for her intelligence and infectious spirit.
At The Journal, Morris focused on recruiting, career development and newsroom culture. Prior to that, she was a commercial real estate reporter, writing about the economy and changes in the way we live and work through the lens of real estate.
Previously, Morris reported at Newsday and The Seattle Times. She graduated from Harvard and received a master’s in journalism from Stanford.
