No official job, but Bartiromo will still work Davos

Claire Atkinson of the New York Post reports that business news anchor Maria Bartiromo still plans to attend the World Economic Forum later this month despite not having a full-time job.

Atkinson writes, “Bartiromo quit CNBC — after 20 years — in November, reportedly for a new deal with Fox Business Network, leaving news-industry tattlers wondering whether CNBC would prevent her from appearing on air from the Swiss Alps event.

“FBN has yet to confirm her hiring, and Bartiromo can’t technically do any on-air reporting until after Jan. 31 — when her non-compete ends.

“Bartiromo has been attending the Davos Forum for years, and her spokesman, Ken Sunshine, tells us she’ll attend the event, same as always, the only difference being she’ll be there as a private citizen and as a host of a few seminars.

“We doubt Bartiromo will be sitting in her hotel room when there’s some high profile schmoozing to be done, with presidents and bank chiefs all around.”
