David Bracken, the business editor for The (Raleigh) News & Observer, is leaving the paper for a job at Fidelity.
Bracken’s last day at the paper is June 17. At Fidelity, he will be an associate research analyst in the company’s Center for Applied Technology, which has an office in the Research Triangle Park.
He joined the N&O in December 2004 to cover eastern Wake County and within a couple of years had moved over to cover the City of Raleigh. He joined the business desk in the fall of 2009 to cover commercial real estate. Bracken became an assistant business editor in 2011 and business editor two years later.
He previously worked for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the Anniston Star.
Bracken has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and political science from Colgate University and a master’s in journalism from the University of Missouri.
