New business editor named in Tallahassee

Dave Hodges has been named the new business editor at the Tallahassee Democrat, according to a short story in Wednesday’s paper. The story does not state what happened to former business editor Steve Liner.

Jeff Burlew wrote, “Hodges, a 51-year-old Fort Pierce native, earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Florida. He served as business editor at Florida TODAY in Brevard County; managing editor of the weekly Orlando Business Journal; and is perhaps best known as writer and editor for the Florida Specifier, a monthly civil- and environmental-engineering paper based in Winter Park.

“‘We’re pleased to have an experienced business and journalism professional to lead our team in this important coverage area,’ said Bob Gabordi, executive editor of the Tallahassee Democrat.

“Since 1999, Hodges has worked in the private sector as marketing director for JRA Architects Inc. and senior technical writer for PBS&J, both in Tallahassee.”
