Federal transportation reporter Shaun Courtney will be switching to a new beat and will now be covering homeland security for Bloomberg Government as a senior reporter.
Before joining Bloomberg, Courtney was an investigative reporting intern with The Washington Post. There, she reported and wrote about toy guns and their role in deadly officer-involved shootings.
She was also a graduate reporter for the Investigative Reporting Workshop and also worked as a freelance reporter for a while.
Additionally, Courtney held the posts of content strategist and district source editor-in-chief at Compass. She was also editor-in-chief at Lindsay Reishman Real Estate. Moreover, she worked as a local editor for Patch.com and also served as a staff writer at DCMud.
Courtney holds a bachelor’s degree in political science, communications and a master’s degree in investigative journalism from American University.
