Nadeau, former Canadian biz journalist, has died

Michel Nadeau

Michel Nadeau, a business journalist for Canadian publication Le Devoir in the 1970s and 1980s, has died.

After journalism, he became an executive with Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, which managed funds for public retirement and insurance plans.

A Montreal Gazette story states, “Nadeau was a promoter and champion of Quebec’s economy and businesses, Quebec Premier François Legault said on Twitter.

“Le Devoir Editor Brian Myles remembered Nadeau as ‘a great builder and visionary of Quebec Inc.’

“Quebec Finance Minister Eric Girard credited Nadeau with developing Quebec’s economy and improving the governance of the province’s institutions.

“The Caisse said Nadeau made a ‘major contribution’ to the institution. ‘Today, Quebec has lost a respected and eloquent voice,’ wrote president Charles Emond.”
