N.C. paper hires business reporter for full-time job

Ted Natt, who ran the Sandhills Business Times newspaper for five years before shutting it in 2008, has been hired by the Southern Pines Pilot as a full-time business reporter.

Natt had been writing for the North Carolina paper on a part-time basis.

Tom Embry writes, “During his career, Natt worked for Associated Press branches in Boston and Louisville, as well as several other newspapers.

“Natt got involved in business writing, working for the Triangle Business Journal for 13 months beginning in the fall of 1997.

“‘What I love most about journalism is that everyone has a story to tell, and no two stories are the same,’ he says.

“Natt moved to Moore County in December 2002. He launched the Sandhills Business Times in June 2003 and operated the monthly regional business publication until 2008, when the economy forced him to cease operations.”
