Moriarty hired as chief content officer of Investment News

George Moriarty

SeekingAlpha.com editor in chief George Moriarty has been hired as chief content officer of Investment News.

He will start Nov. 18.

Looking forward to this new challenge and continuing to deliver the excellent work that readers have come to expect from IN,” wrote Moriarty on Twitter.

He replaces Fred Gabriel, who is leaving the publication.

Moriarty is editor in chief and vice president of content at Seeking Alpha. He joined the company in January 2012 as managing editor of opinion & analysis and works closely with CEO Eli Hoffmann and other company leaders on content and publishing initiatives for the Seeking Alpha contributor community.

George has worked as a financial journalist and editor since 1997, most recently as editor-in-chief at Merrill Lynch Online Platforms.

Prior to Merrill, he was executive editor at TheStreet.com.
