More than just market tick tocks

Maria Bartiromo

Fox Business Network anchor Maria Bartiromo spoke with TVNewser’s Chris Ariens about the success of her 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. time slot, where it beat CNBC last month.

Ariens writes, “‘I am so proud of our first monthly win because it proves what we’ve been saying at FBN all along– business viewers need more from their news than just the market tick tocks,’ Bartiromo told TVNewser. ‘They need to know how tax reform, employment, health care and the major policies set out from Washington are impacting their wallets, and their businesses.’

“Bartiromo’s show averaged 107,000 total viewers to 105,000 for CNBC’s Squawk Box. Squawk edged Bartiromo in the demo 28,000 to 17,000.

“‘My team has been working around the clock to ensure we get the best guests and have the most informative discussions every morning, and so am glad to see it resonating with our viewers,’ added Bartiromo, who spent 20 years at CNBC before jumping to FBN in 2014. ‘I could not be more proud of this team.'”
