Jacobsen previously worked for SNL Financial, now S&P Global Markets, as its Canadian mining correspondent, where she covered growing Aboriginal influence in the sector. She was also managing editor at Central Asia Newswire, where she monitored and reported on developments in the region for the digital news startup.
She was also features editor at Magharebia, where she reported on North African political and economic news in the run-up to the Arab Spring protests.
She focused her reporting in the past on mining, energy, and the environment. She has a Master of Arts in Journalism from City, University of London and a Master of Arts in Political Science from McGill University.
