San Antonio businessman Red McCombs is the next subject of the CNBC series “American Made” this week. Last week, it was Starbucks chairman Howard Schultz.
McCombs has owned auto dealerships, the Minnesota Vikings and the San Antonio Spurs.
Express-News reporter Hector Saldana reports, “Executive producer Lyn Graft said McCombs indeed discusses his personal lows as well as professional highs with Red McCombs Automotive Group, Clear Channel Communications, the Minnesota Vikings and the San Antonio Spurs.
“He said McCombs talks about his love of business and speaks openly about battling alcoholism, a near-death experience and business turmoil.
“‘He’s a great American success story,’ said Graft, who sees McCombs as ‘the quintessential Texan.’ He said he walked away from the taping amazed by his fearless, if down-home, business philosophy.”
