Mashable announced Tuesday that it has hired Sandra Gonzalez as senior TV writer.
Gonzalez will report on this evolution and as part of the growing editorial entertainment team, expand Mashable’s voice in TV.
“We knew that TV would be a big priority this year,” said Jim Roberts, chief content officer and executive editor of Mashable, in a statement. “After hiring Josh Dickey as our entertainment editor, we have amped up our coverage; we broke the news that Stephen Colbert would replace David Letterman, we’ve invested more in episode recaps and broadened our coverage of the TV Upfronts.”
“With Sandra’s excellent experience and passion for TV in its many forms, we’re excited to further dive into entertainment and grow Mashable’s coverage in this arena,” Roberts added.
Gonzalez joins Mashable from Entertainment Weekly, where for four years she covered breaking television news for EW.com’s InsideTV blog and wrote recaps, reviews and commentary for the PopWatch blog. She has also appeared on Good Morning America, Access Hollywood, Nightline and Extra, providing pop culture commentary.
Previously, she served as an entertainment reporter for The Monitor.
Gonzalez is a graduate of University of Texas, Pan American, where she studied journalism.
