MarketWatch.com has hired Frances Yue to cover cryptocurrencies and Steve Gelsi to cover cannabis and banking.
Yue most recently has been at CoinDesk. She also worked at Reog as a high-yield bond reporter, focusing on the Chinese market.
She previously interned at USA Today and worked at The Wall Street Journal China as a social media editor. Yue holds a master’s degree from New York University.
Gelsi has spent the last three years at Institutional Investor covering private equity deal-making and people moves including acquisitions, sales, financings and trends. He also was an editor at InfraLatinAmerica and a senior editor at Buyouts magazine.
Gelsi worked at MarketWatch previously as its lead IPO reporter based in New York. He is the author of “CBS MarketWatch, the Story Behind the Numbers … How America Made A Fortune and Lost Its Shirt.”
He previously worked at Forbes.com, BrandWeek and various daily newspapers. He was awarded the Keystone Press Award.
