“Marketplace” hires Cabrera as producer

Marissa Cabrera

Marissa Cabrera has joined “Marketplace” as producer of Make Me Smart podcast with Kai Ryssdal and Molly Wood.

The podcast breaks down the impact of COVID-19 on the economy and the most complex topics of the week.

Previously, Cabrera was at KPBS where she worked for 10 years. She served as a producer for KPBS Midday Edition and before that, she held the post of newscast producer for KPBS’ Morning Edition.

Prior to joining KPBS, Cabrera was reporting from Rome, Italy.

Additionally, she has also worked as a multimedia journalist at numerous stations in San Diego, Monterey and Columbia, Missouri.

Cabrera graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism.
