Louisville Business First publisher Lisa Benson writes about why the publication is focusing on covering diversity issues.
Benson writes, “For this person to take the time to call us out for writing about black and female inclusion MBA programs and our commercial real estate industry and peg that as ‘leftist’ is so ugly and ridiculous that I can hardly stand it.
“To be clear, I will never apologize for Business First’s coverage of race and equity in our business community. If you are a reader who can’t stomach the idea of us writing about these things, I encourage you to look elsewhere for local business news because we are going to keep writing about it.
“I deeply believe that if we have more people participating in our business community, we are all going to be better and more prosperous. I also believe that if a Black business succeeds, it is not at the detriment of a white business. It is not a zero sum game. We can all do business in the community together, whether our values are conservative or liberal.”
