The Lafayette Daily Advertiser has cut its stock listings and reworked its business section to give it a section front, according to a Q&A in Monday’s paper.
The Q&A stated, “Many readers check their daily stock prices online, so we have reduced our listings to focus on stocks of local interest. To find a stock price during the week, go to our Web site, theadvertiser.com, and look for the box labeled “markets.â€? We still run publish complete listings of stocks and mutual funds in the weekend newspapers.”
Later, it noted, “What happened to the Business section?
To give this type of news greater prominence, we have moved it to a section front. We have renamed the section ‘Growth and Business’ because we want it to go beyond traditional business stories. It will include stories on local developments and industries, trends and new businesses.”
The People in Business feature will now run every day in the paper instead of just Sunday.
