Lots of personal drama in business news, says CNN’s do Santos

CNN’s Nina dos Santos talks about how she made it as a business journalist, and why it’s a great news specialism.

Dos Santos is the host of CNN International’s daily European-focused business show “The Business View.”

As well as anchoring a number of major news events, from the London Olympic Games to the Arab Spring uprisings, she has had extensive experience in the field, reporting from Brussels, Paris and Rome on the Euro zone debt crisis as well as the British Royal Wedding.

“I spoke Italian, and I wanted to spend time abroad in foreign bureau,” said dos Santos about working for Dow Jones Newswires in Italy.

“It’s a fascinating area of the news business,” said added about business journalism. “There’s the same personal drama.”
