The Verge deputy editor Elizabeth Lopatto is returning to reporting as a senior reporter covering money, the internet and the culture of business.
She joined The Verge in 2014 as science editor, and by 2015 Nieman Lab was referring to her as “Headmaster of The Verge Science Academy.”
She built one of the best science teams in the business, covering everything from space to flamethrowers to vaping to her own concussion recovery. She’s also overseen important investigations, like this deeply-reported look into a sexist academic culture at Texas Tech and on pricing scams for allergy treatments.
As deputy editor, she has overseen science and transportation coverage.
Lopatto previously spent seven years at Bloomberg News as a reporter covering pharma, biotech and science.
